Information About Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC:

The Pakistan Middle Council was initially established in 1948 following the British Indian Medical Council Act 1933 followed by the Pakistan Strengthening Will of 1947. In 1957, Sindh Medical Council and Punjab Medical Council were merged into West Pakistan Medical Council. Subsequently three amendments were passed as Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Act in 1973, 1999 and 2012. In 2019, President Arif Alvi passed a law and dissolved the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and formed a new council called the Pakistan Medical Council. However, 3 years later in 2022, the Islamabad High Court reinstated the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and invalidated the formation of the Pakistan Medical Commission in its place through a Presidential Ordinance.
